REMEDIAL FARRIERY
90% of fore limb lameness occurs in the foot, and this often the best place to start when examining lameness and poor performance.
We are incredibly lucky to have the expertise of Jim Blurton (Forden Farriers) previous world champion and head farrier to the last two Olympic games as part of our team.
Jim Joins us regularly at the clinic to work on remedial cases alongside our veterinary surgeons. This close working relationship allows full assessment of dynamic examination including foot balance, foot placement during movement and lameness assessment.
REDMEDIAL FARRIERY REFERRAL SERVICE
Jim is available to work alongside your farrier at our clinic for more complex cases where necessary. Following the initial work up and consultation, the case will then be passed back to your own farrier with support as and when needed.
For this service we would require a referral from your current farrier. We will not be able to see cases in this way without a referral from your treating farrier and or treating vet.
We also work closely with the University of Liverpool offering a referral for MRI where necessary.
