Simon graduated from The University of liverpool in 2006 and went straight into a large equine practice for ten years. His main interests include equine lameness, poor performance and orthopaedic surgery. Simon is the assistant vet for the British Show Jumping team, and is also an FEI Vet. He works at many local British Eventing competitions which include international events
Dr Ken Anderson BVMS MRCVS
Senior Veterinary Surgeon
Ken graduated from Glasgow in 1980 and spent the next 37 years at Penkridge in mixed practice but very much concentrating on and leading the equine team at the practice. Ken has an interest in lameness and is an FEI treating vet, providing veterinary cover at many of the local BE Events. Ken enjoys all aspects of ambulatory work and brings a huge amount of experience to the clinic
Dr Freya Rees Jones BVSc MRCVS
Freya graduated from Bristol University in 2016 and went straight into a position as an Intern at Cotts Equine Hospital in South Wales. Here she spent 12 months working under specialists in medicine and surgical cases. She also gained a great deal of experience in anaesthesia. Her particular interests are in anaesthesia and medicine. Outside of work she enjoys riding when time permits. Freya is originally from South Wales, but so far is enjoying the culture difference! She has already become a great asset to our team
Dr Olly Newman
Oliver graduated with honours from the University of Nottingham in 2017 and went on to complete an internship at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center, California before joining Lower House Equine Clinic in September 2018. Oliver enjoys all aspects of equine veterinary practice, with particular interests in emergency medicine and critical care, poor performance diagnostics, surgery, and anaesthesia.
In his spare time, Oliver enjoys playing a variety of sports including cricket and badminton.
Cassie Woods BSc (Hons)
Equine Nurse and Partner
Cassie is our equine nurse and is currently studying to become a qualified equine veterinary nurse, attending college once a week. Her main roles include taking care of the in patients, assisting the vets, helping with surgery, looking after our theatre and equipment and our lab. Cassie has a degree in Bioveterinary Science and has previously worked in equine and small animal practice.
Veterinary Technicians and Grooms
Rubie has joined our team following completing an Animal Management and Care course at Walford College where she passed with distinction Outside of work Rubie owns two horses Fudge and Brian and competes in riding club activites and eventing Rubie helps take care of our in patients, helps the vets with procedures and enjoys helping in our lab. She also enjoys keeping the practice to a high standard of cleanliness
Izzy has recently joined us as our veterinary groom, following time spent working in eventing and livery yards. Izzy studied FdSc Equine Science, Natural Horsemanship and Complimentary Therapy at Reaseheath. When not working, Izzy enjoys riding her horse Harry
Sam is our veterinary Administrator and looks after all of our client accounts.
Sams roles include inputting the vets work, arranging the vets diary and credit control as well as losing with equipment suppliers and referal centres
Sam has previously worked within the veterinary and customer service industry and has also evented and team chased. She brings a wealth of experience in both in customer support and equine
Sam is a keen biker, and is soon going to be taking part in a London to Paris sponsored bike ride
Jane is our veterinary administrator. Her role includes booking the vets work, arranging visits, assisting clients and helping to organise everything at the clinic! She also enjoys helping with the in patients and helping the vets when an extra pair of hands is required. Jane joins us with a great deal of experience having previously worked in several equine and farm practices. Outside of work, Jane is married to a local vet, and has two children as well as Wispa the dog! Jane is a keen dressage rider and currently rides up to Advanced Medium Level
Veterinary Administration and Accounts
Susan has joined our veterinary administration team– having previously worked in the NHS in Shrewsbury and Oswestry. Susan’s main role is looking after the accounting side of the business but also works alongside Sam and Jane with all aspects of veterinary administration.
She owns a busy livery yard and equine facility near Arddleen/Guilsfield running this with her family. Susan enjoys playing tennis all year round and cooking and baking for friends and family. She is busy at weekends with her children and their 5 horses and take part in show jumping, mounted games, pony club and rugby.
Susan loves travelling in and around Europe and beyond and renovating her 300 year old farmhouse with husband Richard.

Neil joins us almost every month to provide additional dental expertise. Neil is originally from Ballyclare, Northern Ireland and qualified from Bristol University in 2004 and after a brief period in mixed practice, embarked on an equine career starting at Liverpool University as an intern, followed by a surgery residency at Edinburgh University. He then re-joined the Equine Hospital at Liverpool University in 2010 and has attained European Diplomas in both Equine Surgery and Equine Dentistry.

Equine Dental Technician : Geraint has been an equine dental technician for 18 years. He now works alongside his wife Jess who is also a qualified equine dental technician and they cover Mid Wales and the surrounding area's. Geraint has previously been an examiner for the BEVA/BVDA dentistry exam, he has also mentored many students. Geraint joins us once a month at our dental clinic
